  • Wholesale Account Executive (Hawaii, New Jersey, Colorado)

Our Wholesale Account Executives will be responsible for soliciting and servicing a variety of loans. They provide decisions on loans and/or make recommendations to the supervisor. Tracks outstanding loans. Maintains and develops the broker business and correspondent lines for the Wholesale Department. This person must have extensive knowledge of the mortgage industry and its investors in order to be effective in helping to structure loans in the field for delivery to NorthStar Alliance Inc... In addition, this individual will also be responsible to train Brokers on NorthStar Alliance’s computer software platforms as necessary. Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures in Mortgage Banking. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Immediate responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop and secure new broker business for the purpose of expanding the wholesale division.
• Conduct presentations to Brokers weekly to showcase Northstar Alliance’s tools, benefits, programs, etc.
• Visit and service established Corporate Wholesale brokers on a routine basis.
• Review broker applications to assure completeness and accuracy prior to submission for management’s approval
• Maintain and keep current Broker’s master files: i.e. site inspections, reference checks, current financials and licenses, etc.
• Be primary contact for brokers to discuss packaging of submissions
• Must personally meet minimum production expectations of $5,000,000 per month in fundings.
• Assist brokers in structuring loans, scenario calls, locks and pricing issues.
• Assist Broker Liaison with individual files to ensure timely closure of loans within lock and documentation expiration periods.
• Advise management of any complaints or concerns regarding the performance of NorthStar Alliances turn times, approval process, etc. within the broker community
• Advise management of competitor product, pricing, and/or service offerings that impact his/her ability to compete in the market.
• Market and promote NorthStar Alliance. In the community, such as through participation in organizations and presentations at mortgage industry trade shows and events.

Training:
• Train wholesale accounts on NorthStar Alliance’s proprietary computer programs and software platforms.
• Train Brokers’ Loan Officers and/or Processors on issues of mortgage sales and packaging standards to increase the closure rate of transactions submitted to NorthStar Alliance.
• Assist with procedures and deployment of I.T. facilities and applications for correspondent lending
• All other duties as assigned by Management or required by business needs and market conditions.

  • Loan Officer (Hawaii, New Jersey, Colorado)

The Loan Officer position is responsible for soliciting and servicing a variety of consumer loans. Provides decisions on loans and/or makes recommendations. The Loan Officer II will be the primary contact with borrowers from the time of application through loan closing. He/she will work closely with the Loan Processor and later the Loan Closer to collect data in packaging loans for submission to underwriting, assist with any conditions for approval, then any conditions for documents and funding.

The Loan Officer will be responsible for pre-qualifying the borrower, taking a complete loan application from the borrower, and identifying the appropriate loan program. Minimum expectations for the position of Loan Officer include, but are not limited to the following:
Complete a loan application (1003) quickly and efficiently.
Established COI database with constant expansion activity
Experience originating conventional Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Non-Conforming Loans. Familiarity with FHA and VA is preferred.
Working knowledge of basic underwriting guidelines for conventional loans.
Familiar with compliances dealing with Reg B, Reg C, RESPA and Reg Z
Proficient with MSWord, Excel, Outlook or other email application, and any Internet browser.
Experience with using Fannie Mae's Desktop Underwriter and Freddie Mac Loan Prospector.
Must personally meet minimum production expectations in fundings and meet prospect and loan expectations.
Proficient in Loan Operating System input. Inform Management or Direct Report of ongoing training needs.
Attend mandatory retail meetings potentially as frequent as once a week and company meetings as scheduled.
Provide written activity reports if requested from management.
All other duties as assigned by Management including completion of Loan Officer training.

  • Marketing Assistant

The Marketing Assistant is charged with managing and creating marketing materials for the company

Marketing:

• Assist and create marketing materials as needed by Sales,Senior Management and other departments
• Will work with PR and Marketing Management and other Marketing staff specialists to coordinate marketing efforts
• Responsible for assisting with and maintaining company logos, templates, newsletters, designwork etc.
• Responsible for assisting with and maintaining company supplies of collateral, stationary and premiums
• Responsible for assisting with and ordering company premiums
• Responsible for assisting with and creating temporary business cards and ordering permanent business cards for appropriate personnel.
• Assist with maintaining company customer contact list
• Assist with creating Junior Affinity coupons and maintaining relationship with participants per the Jr. Affinity Policy and Procedures.
• All other tasks as assigned by management or required by business needs.

QUALITIES:

Some background in Marketing is required. Will need to have strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues without help. Understand the basic functions of the company and the industry to better understand the purpose and role of marketing. Will need to work well with others both internally and externally. Must know Microsoft Office Programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher or other DTP applications.

  • Underwriter

The Corporate Underwriter is responsible for gathering necessary credit information and evaluates mortgage loan requests in order to approve or deny applications. Additional responsibilities include assisting the branch level underwriters, processors, and Secondary marketing personnel. Requires 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Must be familiar with standard concepts, investor guidelines, practices, and procedures in the mortgage industry. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Performs a variety of tasks. Typically reports to senior management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides branch level Underwriter support (fielding questions, resolving problems, identifying needs, and soliciting feedback).
• Must be direct endorsed (D.E.) through the Federal Housing Authority (F.H.A.)
• Reviews and analyzes all areas of the mortgage loan application to ensure accuracy, completeness, and that complies with lender and regulatory guidelines.
• Assure data integrity and accuracy of AU input as well as the LOS input.
• Works on special needs files (Loans that do not meet published guidelines, employee loans, etc.)
• Reviews credit and collateral.
• Confirm proper loan documentation is in file.
• Assures that proper dispositions are executed (approval, suspension, denial)
• Able to underwrite using manual underwriting guidelines.
• Guarantee turn times set by management are met.
• Keep current on regional market changes, trends, industry guides, Federal guidelines, program updates, and investor changes.
• Provide a second layer of quality control to ensure that the liability taken on by the company will not result in a non-salable loan.
• Provide knowledge and guidance for the other Underwriters, Validator(s) and Processor(s).
• Develops and implements job training for department and branch personnel.
• Implement established credit and documentation policies and procedures.
• Provide continual training and support on complex transactions, new programs, products, changes to existing program revisions, and underwriting within the LOS.
• Back up to branch Underwriter(s).
• Provide assistance to Secondary marketing in clearing Investor conditions quickly

QUALITIES:
Detail oriented, well organized with good judgment. Experience with computer applications and the Internet. Efficiency with several AUS engines (DU, LP, CLOUT). LAPP & DE Certifications required. Must be able to manage time well during volume changes. Strong verbal and written communication as well as excellent interpersonal and organizational skills is needed.

 

  • District Manager (Utah, Washington, and Oregon)

The District Manager will be responsible for the recruitment and management of retail account executives as well as soliciting and servicing a variety of loan programs. Maintains and develops the broker business for the retail department and retail originations. Must have extensive knowledge of the mortgage industry and its investors in order to be effective in helping to structure loans in the field for delivery to the Company. In addition, the District Manager will also be responsible to secure loans from brokers based on four (4) key criteria: 1) Quality, 2) Delivery Channel, 3) Training, and 4) Pipeline Management. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Reports to Executive Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Immediate responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Integration of current source of business
• Develop and secure retail channels of business through recruitment of loan originations and own source of business.
• Develop and secure new broker business for the purpose of expanding the retail division through the recruitment of Account Executives in the metropolitan area.

• Assist operation staff with individual files to ensure timely closure of loans within lock and documentation expiration periods.
• Manage production pipeline
• Recruit and Manage teams of account executives, retail loan officers and manage broker liaison.
• Advise corporate office of any concerns regarding the performance of the Company’s turn times, approval process, etc. within the broker community
• Advise management of competitor’s product, pricing and /or service offerings that impact his/her ability to compete in the market.
• Market and promote the Company in the above mentioned states, such as through participation in organizations and presentations at mortgage industry trade shows and events.


Training:
• Train retail accounts on the Company’s proprietary computer programs and software platforms.
• Train Brokers, Loan Officers and/or Processors on the Company standards and philosophy to increase the closure rate of transactions submitted to the Company.

The employee must have a current drivers’ license in good standing. A high degree of accuracy under time and pressure is required.   • Corporate Planning Officer

The Corporate Planning Officer directs and consolidates the development of various long and short-term corporate business plans, ensuring that major corporate strategic objectives are implemented and maintained throughout the planning process. You will provide technical and economic analysis to support creation of growth opportunities and enhance profitability. The position will provide  support on company wide business initiatives and participates in the recommendation, development and documentation of strategic corporate goals and objectives by way of preparing agendas, reports and submissions for the corporate home office as well as divisions across the organization.

• Provides professional leadership and supervision to managers, and other subordinate staff as needed, to address business project management, problem-solving, development of long term plans. 
• Involved in the planing and development process for the corporation's long term strategy, directs the devlopment of the corporation's annual business plan and key performance indicators, and directs the measurement, reporting and stewardship of the company's performance against the annual business plan targets. 
• Participating in making strategic planning and development of mortgage banking
